We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced-motion settings.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with a single H1 per page and a logical heading order.
- A "skip to main content" link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Visible focus outlines on all interactive elements.
- The photo galleries and lightbox are fully keyboard operable — arrow keys move between photos and Escape closes the viewer.
- Form fields have associated labels, and errors are announced via a live region.
- Body and heading text meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast against their backgrounds.
- All animation and scroll reveals are disabled automatically when your system is set to "reduce motion".
- Layouts reflow without horizontal scrolling down to 320 px wide.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
Known limitations
We are being straight about these rather than claiming full conformance:
- The filterable material library and the project gallery are built with JavaScript. With JavaScript disabled you will see a message and a phone number instead of the photo grid. The written material descriptions remain readable without JavaScript.
- Project photographs have descriptive but generic alternative text by category rather than individually written descriptions of each image.
- This site has not undergone a formal third-party accessibility audit.
